Six people killed across Karachi in target killings

KARACHI:
Six people were killed in separate incidents of targeted violence in Karachi on Wednesday.

According to sources, an ANP worker was gunned down by unidentified men in the Orangi Town whereas a man was killed in Lyari in a shooting incident while another was injured.

There were also reports of two people murdered in Korangi.


In another part of the city a firing incident in Qasba Colony severely injured two girls while one person was shot dead in Tashqand colony.

Police and Rangers had been deployed in sensitive areas to avoid any untoward situation.

Later in the evening, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik spoke to the media in the city on violence in Karachi and target killings while also reacting to Indian Foreign Minister Chidambaram's recent comments regarding the Mumbai attack of 2008. He shared his views on the ongoing Headley trial as well.
