The heirs of the deceased came up with strong evidences against the suspects. Zahid Hussain was allegedly killed by his rivals four months ago within City police station precincts. However, Layyah DSP Tahir Maqsood and Investigation Officer Sharif Gujjar committed negligence in investigation and made the case to appear as that of a suicide.

The deceased’s father Saeed Ahmed, mother Ghulam Zehra, and brother Javed Iqbal, submitted a complaint to the RPO, stating that Zahid Hussain did not commit suicide, but was murdered by Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Adnan, Mumtaz Ahmed and Ghulam Nabi.

They claimed they had concrete proof of the murder. They said that both police officials had supported the accused. The victim’s heirs said that the suspects were neither arrested nor investigated and given the benefit of the doubt after the murder was declared suicide.
