Lahore wears festive look on eve of Eid Miladun Nabi

Mosques, shrines, historic sites and commercial areas decorated with lights

LWMC will clean 100 procession routes with 1,000 workers on duty in three shifts.

All preparations to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) have been completed in the provincial capital on Tuesday, a day before the auspicious occasion.

All mosques, shrines, public and private buildings, historic sites, commercial areas, markets, main city roads and streets have been illuminated with colourful lights and buntings. Special décor has been placed on model roads, including Mall Road, Jail Road and Gulberg Main Boulevard.

The provincial government has already cancelled public holidays in various departments across Punjab on Rabiul Awal 12 to celebrate the Eid Miladun Nabi.

The provincial government and religious organisations have completed arrangements for a series of events, such as Mehfil-e-Milad, seminars, conferences, qirat, naat recitation and essay writing competitions, to highlight the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet. Special prayers and lectures will also be offered in mosques to spread his message.

The main Milad procession will be taken out from the Lahore Railway Station and it will pass through its traditional route before culminating at Data Darbar. Prominent religious scholars and ulemas will highlight various aspects of Seerat-un-Nabi.

In a Twitter message, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said: "Eid Miladun Nabi is a very important celebration for the Muslim Ummah."

He thanked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry for organising the Mehfil-e-Noor Mustafa in Lahore to celebrate the occasion. The Punjab Governor House has made arrangements to host a function about "Sufiana Kalam" at Governor House Lahore on 18th of this month.

In a message, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar congratulated the Muslim world on the most auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet. The chief minister said his birth is the most propitious occasion for the whole of human history.

"Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who is the benefactor of the whole humanity, has emerged as an example for the whole world through His immaculate character and uswa-e-husna and introduced an exemplary socio-economic order in a short span of time.

The CM underscored that Pakistan could be made a citadel of peace and harmony by following the uswa-e-husna of the Holy Prophet.

"Humanity, suffering from lawlessness and terrorism, can achieve salvation by following the his teachings. The life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad has been termed as a reflection of the Holy Quran, complete with guidance and direction for the Muslim Ummah. He said the day provided an opportunity to the Muslim world to follow the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah in the real sense.

"We should also pray for betterment, prosperity and national development, he said. Meanwhile, in Sargodha, places of worship and buildings were decorated, while Milads were arranged in different areas of the city.

On Wednesday, the central procession of Eid Miladun Nabi will start from Hamid Shah Masjid and cover more than 100 areas including Amin Bazar, Kachehri Bazar, Sharbat chowk, Sharbat Chowk.

The procession will complete a full circle and once again reach Hamid Shah Masjid to culminate. Police finalised security measures, while traffic wardens were deployed for those locals who would venture out to enjoy the lights.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi arrangements finalised

Bahawalpur was also all set to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi with religious zeal and zest. The two main processions of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) would be taken out from Milad Chowk and Sirani Masjid and would pass through Giri Ganj Bazaar, Shahi Bazaar, Farid Gate, Circular Road, Khatam-e-Nabuwat Chowk and conclude at their commencing points. Other processions would also be taken out from various parts of Bahawalpur district.

People have decorated mosques, houses and streets with green flags and lights to express their love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Special security arrangements have been made by the district police and a traffic management plan has also been devised. (WITH ADDITIONAL INPUT FROM APP)
