Non-Payment Of Salaries: NCHD employees stage protest rally

The protestors criticised the government for claiming to be ‘pro-poor’.

FAISALABAD:
Several employees of the National Commission for Human Development (NCWD) staged a demonstration in front of the Jhang Press Club on Wednesday against nonpayment of salaries for three months. They demanded that the government provide a guarantee that their jobs would not be cancelled. They feared that the government was planning to dissolve the commission because no funds had been allocated for it this year. The protestors criticised the government for claiming to be ‘pro-poor’. They said they would continue their protest as long as their outstanding salaries were not paid and they were given job security.
