A training programme for the Population Census Organisation of Pakistan (PCO) workers was organised by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The programme focused on updating the existing geographic information system (GIS) for the PCO offices in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawer and Quetta. UN-HABITAT, Pakistan is also implementing a project titled GIS Automation and Capacity Building for the Statistics Division as part of the programme.
