ISLAMABAD:

The prime suspect in the murder case of two young men was arrested after nine years. The Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) arrested Malik Ajmal Ejaz, who along with his two accomplices, is charged with gunning down two young boys at a crowded market of G-6/2 in May 2002. Later they were declared by the court as proclaimed offenders.

A CIA official said Ejaz and his accomplices regularly visited G-6/2 to extort money from people.

According to eyewitnesses, Naseeruddin and Khurrum challenged Ejaz’s illegal activities and were shot dead by the latter in broad daylight. The Aabpara police failed to arrest the murderers. The case was then given to the CIA. They managed to track the suspect down to his hideout in Islamabad. Police said they have obtained a remand of the main suspect as he could provide information on the whereabouts of his accomplices, who are still at large.
