A friendly cricket match turned deadly after a fight broke out due to a verbal altercation in Peshawar's Bahadar Kalay area on Saturday.

Two young men lost their lives due to an exchange of fire that followed the verbal fight. Arbab Arsalan Khan, a resident of the neighbourhood, lodged the FIR of the incident at the Bhana Mari police station.

According to the first information report, the complainant came out of his residence upon hearing the gun shots. He found bodies of his nephew 16 years old Arbab Waqas and Zubair, a 22-year-old resident of Shairakera Hal Bahadar Kalay.

The police registered a case against the deceased Zubair and one Suleiman, a resident of Shairakera under Arbab Arsalan. The dead bodies were sent to the morgue for post-mortem.

According to DSP Suburb Fazal Wahid Khan, two youngsters lost their lives in an exchange of fire and their bodies were sent for post-mortem. He said the police are investigating the incident and an FIR has already been registered by one party.
