Clean atmosphere: German envoy plants trees at KU
Trees in our vicinity are inspiring for students and citizens alike, says Wollfarth
KARACHI:
To emphasise the importance of green surroundings and its positive effects on the environment and global climate, German Consul-General in Karachi HE Eugen Wollfarth planted trees at the University of Karachi (KU) campus on November 14. “Trees in our vicinity are inspiring for students and citizens alike. They contribute to a cleaner atmosphere and to our health,” said Wollfarth. KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ajmal Khan appreciated the initiative of the German consul-general for the betterment of the environment and thanked him for taking the initiative. The tree plantation was financed through the German Consulate’s economic development fund.
