Indo-Pak Express rolls on
Pair defeats Brown and Monfils to enter Halle semi-final.
KARACHI:
Pakistan tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi and his Indian doubles partner Rohan Bopanna advanced to the semi-final of the Gerry Weber Open 2011, a grass court tournament being held in Halle, Germany.
The top seeds defeated French pair of Dustin Brown and Gael Monfils 4-6, 7-6, 10-4.
The Indo-Pak Express had entered the quarter-finals after defeating Ukrainian pair Ivan Dodig and Alexandr Dolgopolov 7-6, 6-4 a day earlier.
This was Aisam and Bopanna’s first outing since their French Open exit at the hands of American pair and brothers Mike and Bob Bryan.
Aisam has recently achieved his career-best world number eight place on the ATP World Ranking list of doubles and number two in the Asian ranking.
