First visually impaired judge starts training

RAWALPINDI:
Saleem Yousaf, the country’s first specially-abled civil judge, has started his training at the Judicial Complex in Rawalpindi along with his colleagues on Thursday.

On Thursday, he attended the court of a senior judge and heard adjudication of cases under his tutelage the entire day.

While he hails from Lahore, he has been deputed to the civil justice circuit in Rawalpindi where he will undergo training to become a judge.

Lawyers in Rawalpindi are ecstatic over his deployment to the city noting that Yousuf comes into the judiciary after securing his law degree with top marks. Moreover, he had secured a good position in the examinations for civil judges.

After his training is complete next month, he is expected to hold court on his own and adjudicate cases.
