Researcher says education system plagued with a lot of problems

QUETTA: Prof Dr Amjad Ali Arain, a researcher from the University of Sindh, has stressed the need for a sustainable, research-oriented education system in the universities for bringing Pakistan on a par with developed countries of the world.

“National education system is plagued with a lot of problems,” Dr Arain said while delivering a lecture on ‘Trends and Issues in Education in Pakistan in the Context of Research’ organised by the University of Turbat (UoT) in collaboration with the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC) at UoT’s Gwadar Campus on Tuesday.

District Executive Officer (DEO) Madam Bilqees, Deputy Campus Coordinator Hafeez Mubarak, UoT Education Department Chairperson Turbat Tariq Durra, Incharge Shahnaz Noor, faculty member Durjan Gichki and Obaid Ali, as well as teachers and students, were also present at the lecture session.

“A comprehensive strategy is essential for improving education system at the elementary and tertiary level in the country,” said Dr Arian.

Mubarak, the Deputy Campus Coordinator, thanked the researcher for his views on the status of education sector in the country.

Later, on behalf of the UoT vice chancellor, faculty members Mukhtar Bashir and Sadia Naseer presented shields to the resource person and guests.
