The first ever live-action Pokémon film, titled Detective Pikachu is gearing up to hit silver screens next year. The way it mixes live-action human actors and computer-animated characters is definitely a pleasant surprise, having just the right mix of cute and weird.

Detective Pikachu follows a young man named  Tim (Justice Smith) who teams up with a talking Pikachu in a bid to find his missing father. The fuzzy character happens to be a detective and his dad's former partner. However, Pikachu isn't like the other Pokémon in the movie, thanks to Tim's ability to understand him - something that's impossible for other humans in the Pokémon world.

The first shot shows Ryme City, where humans and Pokémon live together in harmony and is full of Pokémon lurking around both on land and in the air. With over 800 Pokémon in the world of games,  there was no shortage of creatures to feature in the trailer, which is exactly what the two-minute video does. And very cleverly, must we add.

While the likes of Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander make prominent appearances, there are many other Pokémon scattered around in the backgrounds.

With Ryan Reynolds as the yellow-furred lead and an innumerable amount of Pokémon characters within the promo, Detective Pikachu's trailer is sure to take you on a wild ride.
