Eight-day anti-polio campaign begins today
With a target of more than seven million children under the age of five
KARACHI:
With a target of more than seven million children under the age of five, the Sindh Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) for Polio will launch an eight-day anti-polio drive from Monday. The campaign will target children from 18 districts of Sindh including 2.3m children in Karachi.
More than 50,000 front line workers will take part in the campaign.
In Karachi alone, there are 9,000 community health workers, supported by 2,300 area in-charges who will be performing their duties. They will be given security by approximately 5,000 law enforcement agency personnel.
