LAHORE:
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday distanced itself from a fresh statement made by suspended party member Rana Mashood.
Mashood was suspended last month for an interview in which he hinted on a ‘deal’ between PML-N and the establishment.
The former lawmaker has reiterated his statement that the “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government could be toppled within two months as they have turned out to be mules and not stallions.”
Mashhood suspended as PML-N member
Briefing media after PML-N parliamentary meeting, former spokesperson of Punjab Government Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan termed Mashood’s comments as personal observation keeping in view the deteriorating situation of the country.
Asserting that the PML-N had no intention to move against the government, he said they wanted to give the incumbent government ample time to perform.
Khan, however, criticised, the Imran Khan-led party’s governance including price hikes.
Elaborating on the parliamentary meeting, he said the party leaders deliberated on Shehbaz’s unceremonious arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The party also discussed upcoming by-elections on two Punjab seats. “The margin between government and opposition is thin hence both sides will try their best to clinch the seats.”
