PM assures Yemen envoy of support to end conflict
Country's premier doubles down on stance that political solution only panacea to protracted conflict

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday conveyed to Yemen's Ambassador to Pakistan of Islamabad's "unwavering support in the early resolution of the conflict," Express News reported.
The country's premier was called on by Yemen's envoy Mohammed Motahar Alashabi at the Prime Minister House, where he vowed that his government would play its role as a mediator to end the debilitating war in the country.

Alashabi congratulated PM Imran on his election win, as well as, expressing his best wishes from the government and people of Yemen.
Moreover, PM Imran also extended the sentiments of the Yemeni leadership and hoped for an early end to hostilities for lasting peace in Yemen.
The country's premier also said that Islamabad would continue to support the restoration of President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi's government.
He added that his government would play its role in bringing all parties together for a political settlement.
While emphasising the need for dialogue, the prime minister said that the conflict in Yemen affects regional peace and stability with a political solution and not a military one being the only way to end the conflict.
He also called for steps to be taken on the international stage to alleviate the sufferings of the Yemeni people and to ensure their safe return to their homes.
