Daily-use goods: USC resumes procurement process
'Resumption of procurement would facilitate middle and lower-income class'
FAISALABAD/ISLAMABAD:
Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has resumed its procurement process in order to ensure a smooth supply of essential commodities of daily use to the consumers through its countrywide network.
“In order to ensure efficient functioning of the corporation and pull it out of losses, it also convened a meeting of its executive board to chalk out a comprehensive plan,” USC Managing Director Wajid Ali Khan said.
Talking to APP on Tuesday, Khan said the resumption of procurement would facilitate the middle and lower-income class as it would be able to purchase daily-use commodities at subsidised rates.
“It was decided in the meeting that there would be no compromise on the quality and quantity of commodities,” he said. “This will also restore consumer confidence and enhance sales of USC outlets.”
