A day after lawmakers got into an altercation during a National Assembly session, Pakistan Peoples Party leader Khursheed Shah said that troublemakers have been part of the lower house for the past five years.

Taking a jibe at Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry's for his comment on Monday stating that he would ask the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) to arrange a one-way journey to space for all corrupt politicians and mischief-makers, Shah said that that he had heard that Suparco had requested for five years of data.

“The House will be empty,” he said mockingly adding that majority of the troublemakers have been part of the National Assembly during the past five years.

"We demand the commission to seek data of only last three months," he added.

He also snubbed the clash between PPP and PTI in Monday's NA session and called it an unpleasant event. He warned Parliament would be left vacant if the situation persists.

“The opposition kept waiting in the assembly for an hour but no one from the government came. And even today only the opposition reached the chamber at the call of the speaker,” he said.

The pandemonium in Maonday’s session started when PPP leader Shazia Marri mentioned General AK Niazi and drew his parallel with ‘Prime Minister Imran Khan Niazi’.

The remarks led to Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammed Khan raising an objection, addressing which the speaker, Asad Qaiser, ruled that a tribe should not be targeted while criticising a particular person.

In the meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Abdul Majeed Niazi got infuriated and started criticising the opposition in a louder tone.

The opposition benches responded in the same manner, causing uproar in the assembly.

At one stage, the speaker even had to instruct the security men to expel two members from the assembly hall.

The house also reverberated with clamourous calls during the speeches of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Ahsan Iqbal and Rana Sanaullah.

Later, the speaker adjourned the session.
