The Balochistan National Party (BNP) leader Shakeela Naveed Dehwar has said BNP will protest in federal and provincial assembly for the safety of women officers in the line of their duty.

Speaking to a women delegation at her residence, she said her party is the ‘torch-bearer’ of the Balochistan traditions and any step against its traditions will not be tolerated.

The BNP leader expressed regret over women administrative officers not being allowed to work by subordinate staff.

Reacting to another indecent incident, she said that the women officers should be provided all possible security.

She said the incident of humiliation to the DSP Traffic Shabana Habib Tareen by her subordinate staff for taking action against Kabuli cars was regrettable.

It was a question mark over the provincial government which claims to have brought about reforms in the police, she added.
Dehwat said that the BNP will record its effective protest in the provincial and federal assembly over the lack of protection for women officers.

She said that the IG police must take notice of the incident that was faced by the woman DSP Traffic and demanded suspension for the officials. The provincial government must take steps to control such incidents or else the “BNP will record its severe protest on the situation,” she added.

Dehwar said that the BNP on account of being the representative party of all the nationalities in the province will protect the rights of women officers in all government and private institutions.
