Mercury soaring: 12 people faint in the heat

People stayed indoors as much as they could and the town has been virtually deserted.

At least twelve people fainted on Monday in the intense heat amid prolonged load shedding.


The heatwave has lasted four days. People stayed indoors as much as they could and the town has been virtually deserted. A scarcity of ice was reported from several areas. The water supply was also affected due to outages.
