PESHAWAR:
A man, who beheaded his wife over being unhappy with her job, was awarded on Tuesday a life imprisonment by Peshawar's Additional Sessions Court.

Justice Shakirullah handed out the sentence which also includes a Rs200,000 fine.

Authorities said that Nazir Ahmed, the culprit, took his wife, the mother of two, to a nearby field to cut wood, where he axed her to death.

Police arrested Ahmed as well as seized the weapon used to commit the crime. A case had been registered by Allah Ditta, the victim's father.

Ditta said that his daughter would work hard to support the family, however, Ahmed would stay at home idle.

The victim's father went on to say that his son-in-law was not in favour of his daughter working outside the house.

On October 24, police claimed to have arrested a suspect on who had murdered two brothers from Faisalabad two days ago.

A police official said that they had managed to nab accused Adnan after carrying out a raid at a hideout. He added the culprit had confessed to the killings during an interrogation.
