Shaan asked them not to be political and stated that artists should not be subjected to such kind of behaviour. He added that he was unwell but still chose to perform, however, the audience refused to acknowledge anything he said.

Fans of the singer soon started commented on the incident on various social media platforms. Later, the Tanha Dil artist explained that a single incident should not be used to ruin a state's image.

Shaan tweeted, "Just for the records, I loved my Assam tour! Saw the most fascinating sights, made new friends and had huge turnouts at every concert. Over one unfortunate incident, it would be very wrong to tarnish this beautiful state. Whatever happened was in the heat of the moment."
