ISLAMABAD:
Deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif's counsel on Monday decided not to submit a plea in the court against Minister of Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry's comments pertaining to Sharif's imprisonment.

An accountability court was hearing the Flagship Reference against the former premier earlier where Sharif's lawyer Khawaja Harris contended before the court that he will not submit an appeal against the information minister's comments because he does not want to deviate away from the original case.

It is pertinent to mention that Chaudhry during an interview predicted that he is 100 per cent sure that Sharif will be placed behind bars.

Sharif's counsel, during the last hearing, informed the court about the federal minister's comments and questioned how can a sitting minister of the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government comment on the ongoing Flagship Reference case judgement.

In response, the judge asked them to submit an appeal against Chaudhry's comments. He also said maybe the minister was relaying his personal opinion and not commenting on the judicial proceedings.
