FIA investigator testifies in Imran Farooq murder case

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday resumed hearing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Imran Farooq murder case and recorded statement of an Investigation Officer (IO) of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in the case.
The court has already indicted three accused Khalid Shamim, Syed Mohsin Ali and Moazzam Ali in the case, while four others were declared proclaimed offenders yet. Two of the suspects, Shamim and Mohsin, have already recorded their confessional statements before a magistrate, alleging the slain MQM leader was killed because he was a "potent threat to the leadership of MQM".
Shamim has confessed that Farooq's murder was a 'birthday gift' for the MQM founder, while Mohsin stated he took part in the crime because he was promised a position in the MQM's London Secretariat.
The ATC has also already asked the government for writing a letter to UK authorities for handing over MQM founder Altaf Hussain in the murder case.
