Substandard Medicines: Health secretary takes notice
The health secretary directed Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Sulehriya, the health additional secretary, to look into the matter.

Punjab Health Secretary Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan on Monday took notice of the news reports regarding the alleged sale of substandard medicines at pharmacies of government hospitals and sought a report from the medical superintendents of all teaching hospitals. The health secretary directed Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Sulehriya, the health additional secretary, to look into the matter and check all the pharmacies personally before submitting a report to the department. He also directed the drug inspectors to examine these pharmacies.
