Court indicts accused in Labour Colony case

Suspects deny the accusations

KARACHI: An accountability court indicted the accused in a corruption case relating to the purchase of land for Labour Colony by Sindh Workers Board.

As the suspects denied the accusations, the court has summoned witnesses on the next hearing. The court has indicted the officials of the Sindh Workers Welfare Board and seven revenue officers.

The accused include Syed Matloob Hussain, Ali Sher Mirani, Kamos Gul Khattak, Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Shujaat Hussain and others.

According to National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Sindh Welfare Board had to buy two acres of land for the labourers' colony, but substandard land was purchased for the colony due to which national treasury incurred a loss of millions.
