Shehbaz to attend NA session

Oaths to newly elected assembly members will also be administered during the NA session

ISLAMABAD:
Opposition leader and PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif will attend a session of the National Assembly on Monday.

The former chief minister of Punjab will be produced in the Lower House by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) after his production orders for today's session were issued earlier.

Shehbaz is also expected to preside a parliamentary meeting of PML-N leaders prior to the NA session.

NA session on October 17 over Shehbaz’s ‘sudden arrest’

Oaths to newly elected assembly members including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Saad Rafique and Shaikh Rasheed will also be administered during the NA session.


On October 24, the party sought production orders for Shehbaz and submitted a requisition to Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.

The National Assembly session, scheduled for Monday, will be the second NA session Shehbaz would attend after being arrested in the Ashiana Housing Scheme case.

The country’s top accountability watchdog had arrested the PML-N president over his alleged involvement in the multi-billion rupees Ashiana Housing Project scam.

Shehbaz was arrested inside NAB’s Lahore office where he was summoned to record his statement before a combined investigations team in connection with the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.
