Court reserves order in MPA’s bail plea
Nawab Sardar Khan Chandio, brother accused of murder of an LG representative and his sons
HYDERABAD:
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Sukkur reserved on Saturday its order over a plea to confirm bail of MPA Nawab Sardar Khan Chandio and his brother Burhan Chandio in a January, 2018, triple murder case of Dadu district.
The Kambar-Shahdadkot district-based MPA Sardar is among those accused in the murder of local government representative Raees Karamullah Chandio and his sons, Mukhtiari Chandio and Kamil Chandio.
MPA arrested from court premises
The three were killed on January 17 in an armed attack on their house in Ahmed Colony. The names of the MPA and his brother were initially not included in the FIR until the Supreme Court took notice and ordered the police add their names in the FIR and investigate their involvement in the murder. During the hearing, the counsel of the accused argued that the investigating officer had excluded the names of the MPA and his brother because the IO could not establish their link with the murder.
SHC orders nomination of former PPP MPA in murder case
However, the counsel of Um-e-Rubab Chandio, who is pleading the case on behalf of her slain family members, contended that the MPA and his brother are involved in the murder, alleging that they used their political influence over the police to separate themselves from the inquiry.
The ATC will announce its verdict over the bail pleas of the MPA and others on November 13.
