‘Companies welcome to develop economic, industrial zones’
Minister says foreign companies will be given complete security and cooperation
LAHORE:
Foreign companies welcome to develop economic and industrial zones, highways and motorways, said senior Punjab Minister Abdul Aleem Khan.
He expressed these views while speaking to representatives from international companies on Thursday. He stated that foreign investment for improving provincial infrastructure is welcome but the government will not directly use any of these funds.
Foreign investors can play a vital role in uplifting surrounding areas; investors should earn reasonable profits but ultimately the people of Punjab should benefit from this, he maintained.
Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision is to put the country on the road towards progress and prosperity. The present government will end the mismanagement left behind by the previous regime. Those policies that have financially bankrupted Punjab will end, he claimed.
He added that foreign investors will be given complete security and cooperation so that they can work freely in whichever sector they choose.
Khan also convened a joint meeting of foreign companies where he said that all parties should sit together and find ways to start working on different projects as early as possible.
The minister gave assurances that foreign investors will be given full hospitality and that there will be no under-the-table deals. A transparent and crystal clear system will be adopted to undertake new projects in Pakistan, he expressed.
