The end is coming: GoT stars share emotions surrounding final scenes
While fans still have to wait for a few months more, the cast has often shared details of filming their final scenes
Hit TV show Game of Thrones is nearing its end. While fans still have to wait for a few months more to watch the last six episodes, the cast has often shared details of filming their final scenes. Without hinting at any spoilers of who might take over the throne in the series finale, here are six actors who have spoken about their feelings, as compiled from E! News.
1. Sophie Turner
Playing the older Stark sister, Sophie felt that her character Sansa will be the most self-assured one at the end of Game of Thrones. She said, "It was really satisfying for us but who knows if it will be satisfying for the fans. I think a lot of fans will be disappointed. For me, reading the script was heartbreaking." Sophie also stated that the end might be a little polarising.
2. Kit Harington
The 31-year-old star agreed with Sophie's thoughts, adding, "Not everyone's going to be happy with the ending and you can't please everyone." He continued that all TV shows always seems to have an unsatisfactory closure. Kit, who plays Ned Stark's 'adopted son' Jon Snow, chuckled that he still hasn't told his wife Rose Leslie on how the show ends.
3. Peter Dinklage
In an interview with Vulture, Peter revealed that his last day on set was "beautifully bittersweet". He added, "I'm trying to find the right word but I think my character - Tyrion Lannister was given a very good conclusion. No matter what that is — death can be a great way out."
4. Maisie Williams
Essaying the revengeful Arya Stark, Maisie stated that her final scene on the show was beautiful. "I ended on the perfect scene. I was alone and had watched a lot of other people wrap up so I knew the drill. I had seen the tears and heard the speeches," said Maisie.
She continued that when she got to her final scene, she was sure that she didn't want more of it. The 21-year-old star confessed, "I had exhausted every possible piece of Arya and this season was quite big for me. I had a lot more to do."
5. Emilia Clarke
Starring in Game of Thrones as Daenerys Targaryen, Emilia said that it felt surreal to realise that it will be the last of her character that people will see. She also got dragons tattooed on her wrist and sharing a picture on Instagram that read, "Made sure this Mama is never forgetting her babies."
6. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
Speaking to Huffington Post earlier, Nikolaj revealed that the final season was too intense for him. The actor who plays Jaime Lannister mentioned, "To me, it was very satisfying but also very surprising. It had all the things I was hoping for." However, when it was announced on set that it was his series wrap, he got a little teary-eyed.
