Mob assaults traffic warden after patient dies

The warden earlier stopped a car carrying an ailing patient, who died during the one hour delay.

LAHORE:

Lahore police registered a case against 500 people on Monday, on charges of torturing a traffic warden.


Six people are in custody, who will be presented before the court today.


The traffic warden had lodged a complaint against 500 people, out of which 12 were identified.


The warden had earlier stopped a car carrying an ailing patient on Sunday evening, and held the car up for more than half an hour.


The patient died during that time, after which relatives and other locals physically assaulted the warden.


The case has been registered against the individuals involved, and the matter is under investigation.
