Two killed, kidnapper arrested in separate incidents

At least two people were killed and an absconding kidnapper was arrested in three separate incidents in respective areas of Chagai district on Tuesday.

According to police, Pakistan Railways’ Din Muhammad was crossing the road when a vehicle hit him due to speeding near Padag Railway Station of Chagai Town, leaving him seriously injured on the spot. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

In another incident near Washuk, unidentified gunmen opened fire at Maulvi Lutfullah as he was on his way in Jangian. As a consequence, he died on the spot after receiving bullet wounds. Police, on receiving information, reached the site and shifted the body to a nearby hospital.

Both bodies were handed over to the heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities.

In the third incident, acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a successful raid at Faisal Colony near the Dalbandin area and apprehended an absconding kidnapper Hayatullah.

Police sources said he was involved in a 2008 kidnapping case. Three cases have been registered for investigation.
