A 24-year-old Delhi man sat next to the body of his wife for 24 hours with their daughter in his lap after strangling her on Friday, Hindustan Times reported.

DC Mandeep Singh Randhawa said Kamil had reached the police station around 2am. Another policeman said his confession had initially left those present flummoxed. Some, he said, thought Kamil was inebriated.

A police team visited their home to verify his confession after. “Kamil’s claims were found true and his wife was found on the mattress with strangulation marks around her neck. Her faced had turned blue and we suspected poisoning as well. The body was sent to Lok Nayak Hospital where doctors confirmed that she died of strangulation."
