ISLAMABAD:
The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz on Sunday urged the government to act on its promise for the formation of a “Madina State” and suggested the formation of a task force to realize this vision.

Addressing a seminar here, the chairman said one of the slogans of the government before elections was the formation of a state modeled on Madina.

About the vision, he said, generally people fall prey to romanticism, however, the ground realities are different.

The chairman said the vision of the Madina state was not limited to better living but it also stipulates self-accountability, which was not reliable in the country.

Moreover, the standard of living should not be limited to elite class, he said.

The system in Pakistan is completely different, the chairman said, adding that the parliamentary system needed improvement.

“The formation of National Accountability Bureau is inappropriate,” Ayaz said. He said system/course needed alteration.

The government should form a task force for the creation of Madina State, he added.
