Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday urged all political parties of the country to join forces in passing a resolution to oust the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
“The PTI government will fail in completing its tenure as it is not fit to run the country,” said the former president of Pakistan while addressing the media on Sunday.
The PPP co-chairman was accompanied by former Senate chairman Nayyar Bukhari, former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Latif Khosa.
Zardari said, “The PTI government’s incompetence will not remain hidden for very long.”
Firing a broadside at National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Javed Iqbal, he said, “I am not saying anything bad against him [Iqbal], only his ways and thinking. Thinking changes after sitting in the chair. These are mentally small people. They can’t handle little power.”

Zardari said the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) never benefited him as all the old cases against him had been reopened, adding that after the former chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry annulled the NRO, all cases against him resurfaced.
“The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and other political parties benefited from the NRO,” he said, adding that it mainly helped former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
To a question about a bill to create a new province in South Punjab, the PPP leader said, “We have not received any reply from the PTI government over the matter.”
Zardari said, “When we took over the reins of the government, the US aid had been suspended and the situation was the same as it is now. When Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf had come to power, the same was happening. But after Musharraf we accepted the challenge.”
He claimed that the government “is the centre of conspiracies” and “Islamabad is the city of conspiracies”.
“A policy should be formed to determine the direction in which we are headed,” said Zardari.
Govt clueless about economy, says Bilawal
To a question, he said, “The cases that I am facing today are all made up by Sharif, but that does not mean the distances cannot be shortened. During our tenure, we devised future policies which were not acceptable to Sharif.”
Earlier, during the Peoples Lawyers Forum, the PPP leaders reposed confidence in the leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Co-chairman Zardari.
They paid tributes to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, Begum Nusrat Bhutto, Murtaza Bhutto and Shahnawaz Bhutto for struggling to uphold democracy and rendering unmatched sacrifices.
The PPP leaders passed a resolution in which they paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the Pakistan Army.
Also in the resolution, it was stressed to implement the National Action Plan.
The resolution also highlighted the ‘discriminatory behaviour’ of NAB.
