Masjid-e-Sarwar opened to the public on Friday
KARACHI:
Masjid-e-Sarwar opened to the public on Friday. The attendees, including the Bahria Town Karachi Chief Operating Officer Admiral (retd) Ahmed Hayat, owners and employees of the building being constructed in Midway Commercial administration of Bahria Town and members of the media, congregated in large numbers to offer Friday prayers.
The mosque is named in honour of the father of Bahria Town Country Head Shahid Mehmood Qureshi. Special prayers were offered for Bahria Town Chairperson Malik Riaz Hussain, Qureshi and his parents. The height of the dome is 56 feet and the minar [tower] stands at 136 feet. The mosque can accommodate approximately 1,200 people and it has a separate place for women with a capacity of approximately 100 women. The central hall and the area allotted for women is fully air conditioned.
