Remakes of film classics always seem to excite movie lovers. While Disney's Aladdin already has audiences in anticipation as it gears up for a full-fledged film, a live-action version of another fan favourite has been announced.

Warner Bros has apparently picked film-maker Tim Story to direct their next cartoon hybrid project, Tom and Jerry. That's right! Get ready for some major childhood nostalgia as the cat and mouse duo will soon be making an appearance on the silver screen, according to Vulture.

Naturally, fans are confused as to how the live-action version will work. Well, reports suggest that the famous pair will remain animated and voiceless for the forthcoming film. Sources say that as Tom and Jerry didn’t speak and relied on physical comedy to entertain viewers, the film will stick to that style and not cast voice artists. This will also add on to the film's international appeal.

Warner Bros is aiming for a balance of animated features and live-action hybrids. Therefore, the studio has made a real effort to make sure the two departments work together in developing this project. Executives also understand that, for the animation to be strong for the hybrid projects, the VFX needs to improve. So, in simple terms, they're upping their game!
