Gigi Hadid opens up about being body shamed
The 23-year-old supermodel said she's 'working to get her curvier body back'
Supermodel Gigi Hadid clapped back at internet trolls that deemed her “too skinny”. The Hollywood beauty shared she is working hard towards getting her curvy body back, which she loved.
While she has been open about her struggle with the Hashimoto’s disease, Gigi shared the condition has led to her drastic weight loss, reported The Independent.
She added that she is not used to criticism and that it affects her a lot. “I loved my body when I was curvier,” the 23-year-old said during a panel discussion alongside Kendall Jenner, Ashley Graham and Paloma Elsesser.
“Then as I lost the weight, people were still mean. Yeah, I know I’m skinny. I’m looking in the mirror. I’m trying to eat burgers and do squats. I want an ass too. I get it. I got it. Thank you.”

Speaking about the #MeToo movement in the modelling industry, Gigi revealed she feels a lot of pressure when asked to strip for a photo shoot. “Some people are empowered and excited to be naked and that is amazing. I wish I was one of those people but I’m not. I’ve accepted that about myself and that it is okay,” continued Gigi.
“There are times where I feel like I am excited about a photographer or a creative situation where I will do this or will do that. But there are also times where I am so excited and happy for those who feel empowered by being naked but I tell myself it’s okay that I feel differently.”
