Additional Advocate-General Sindh Abdul Fateh Malik and Advocate on Record Raja Abdul Ghafoor appeared before the bench. The AAG presented a report saying that the provincial government had agreed to pay Rs100,000 each to the heirs of the students and Rs30,000 each to the injured ones. The bench observed that the police department was allegedly involved in the incident and the government should compensate the victims adequately as the amount was not sufficient.
The AAG requested the bench to grant him some time to take up the matter with them. He admitted that the amount was not sufficient in accordance with the notification issued by the government regarding the payment of Diyat. The suo motu action was taken on a newspaper report about the murder of three young men Gul Baig, Zameer Hussain and Allah Dino.
