Jam Khan Shoro secures bail after NAB issues arrest warrants

Bail granted against surety bond of Rs1 million

KARACHI:
Former local government minister Jam Khan Shoro was granted protective bail by the Sindh High Court on Thursday after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issued warrants for the minister's arrest.

Non-bailable arrest warrants for ex-PM Shaukat Aziz issued

Shoro has been granted protective bail until November 8 against a surety sum of Rs1 million.

The former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) minister was booked for alleged embezzlement, misuse of authority and awarding illegal tenders.

During the hearing, Shoro's counsel maintained that their client had not been informed about the details of the charges against him.

In September, out of the 165 members of the Sindh Assembly, 64 claimed that they do not possess any cars while there are seven lawmakers who only own motorcycles.

Surprisingly, Sindh’s former ministers for local government Jam Khan Shoro, Fayyaz Butt, Imdad Patafi, Gayan Chand Israni, Shahid Taheem and Ghulam Shah Jilani also did not own any cars.
