Man attempts to rape 10-year-old boy in Rahim Yar Khan

While children were playing, the suspect allegedly grabbed the boy and took him to a nearby field

A case of attempted rape involving a 10-year-old boy was reported in Liaquatpur Tehsil, Rahim Yar Khan on Tuesday.

Victim’s father N*, a resident of Rasheedabad Colony, said that his son S* was playing outside the house along with other children. While the children were playing, a suspect named Muhammad Waseem allegedly grabbed the boy and took him to a nearby field on a motorcycle, he added. He maintained that it was after some time that he noticed that the boy was missing. “Frantically, I and people from the neighbourhood started to search for my son,” he said.

The victim’s father revealed that in the midst of searching for S*, they reached the fields where they witnessed the suspect ­trying to sexually assault the boy. He said the people caught the accused and thrashed him. Later, the police reached the spot and arrested the culprit.


Earlier, a man allegedly tried to rape a woman in Chak No 84.

An official from Kot Samabah police station said that accused Saleem barged into the house of S* in Chak No 84 while she was alone in the house. He added the accused tried to sexually assault the woman but she raised a hue and cry. As a result, people from the neighbourhood reached the spot and tried to catch the culprit. However, he managed to flee the scene.
