QUETTA: Mohammad Abid Javed, a PS-22 Officer of the Pakistan Administrative Services on Tuesday was appointed the director general of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan.

He assumed the charge as Mirza Muhammad Irfan Baig was transferred to NAB, Sukkur.

Talking to the media, the new DG said, “The vision of NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal ‘accountability for all’ will be upheld.”
He underlined the need for eradicating corruption, saying zero-tolerance policy against corruption would continue.

“Participation of civil society, media and literate strata of society is required to eradicate corruption,” he said, adding that a corruption-free society could only be achieved through mutual cooperation.

Javed joined Pakistan Civil Services in 1984 and served in all four provinces of Pakistan on key posts, including assistant commissioner of Mastung and Quetta, deputy commissioner of Loralai and political agent of Zhob in Balochistan.

Given the rich experience in the field of accountability and investigation, he also served as director general of the Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab.

Javed had joined NAB headquarters in Islamabad in March.
