ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court has asked the Inquiry Commission on Enforced Disappearances to submit a detailed report in the missing persons case.

A two-judge bench led by Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik also asked the commission on Tuesday to submit a separate report about the missing persons whose production orders had been issued.

During the hearing, a report was submitted on behalf of the commission, which stated that 1,868 missing persons cases were pending on September 30.

The commission submitted that 457 cases had been dropped due to being instances of non-enforced disappearance, while 385 had been abandoned because of lack of prosecution or incomplete addresses.
