The passengers were said to have refused to halt the vehicle and were forcibly stopped.
PESHAWAR:
In yet another instance of friction between law-enforcement agencies and foreign diplomatic community in Pakistan, four American diplomats were detained briefly at an army checkpost here before being released. The Americans, were purportedly heading towards Khyber Agency route when they were asked to stop their vehicle at the Gora Qabristan check post. The passengers were said to have refused to halt the vehicle and were forcibly stopped after being sandwiched between police and army vehicles. All four passengers were Americans and had diplomatic passports, said superintendent police Cantt Shafiullah Khan while talking to media. They were allowed to go after security verification, he added.
