Elahi says govt needs more time to move forward
PA speaker says he was against formation of a forward bloc in any party

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has said the damages of 10 years could not be rectified in just 60 days. The government should be given time so that it could move forward.
He expressed these views while talking to the media persons after casting his vote in Gujrat on Sunday.
He said the by-election was held in peaceful atmosphere, army jawans were present, law and order situation was under control, like general election best arrangements were made. The speaker said Shehbaz Sharif had changed DCO, DPO, because of Model Town tragedy.
“I am personally against formation of a forward bloc in any party. Patience should be maintained. The things will move towards the betterment in the coming days,” he said. “The damages of 10 years cannot be rectified in just 60 days. The government should be given time so that it could move forward after due consideration and appraisal of the circumstances and events.”
He said Usman Buzdar was good and strong chief minister and he would certainly come up to the expectation of the people.
On a question, he said those officers who were involved in Model Town tragedy should be transferred so that an impartial inquiry could take place. To a question about the overseas Pakistanis, he said the Election Commission allowed casting their votes which was encouraging and a large number of the expats used their right to franchise.
He said the new generation was coming forward and it will bring the real change.
Earlier, candidate from NA-69 Moonis Elahi, Chaudhry Shafat Hussain, Rasikh Elahi, Muhammad Elahi and Hassan Elahi cast their votes in the Government Girls Primary School Pindi Tataar.
