Automobile fatality: Five family members die in road accident
Black coloured Suzuki Margalla crashed into a dumper truck near Doian Pull on Rawalpindi-Fatehjan Road.
RAWALPINDI:
Five members of a family died in a road accident here on Saturday while returning from Fatehjang.
According to Rescue 1122, a black coloured Suzuki Margalla crashed into a dumper truck near Doian Pull on Rawalpindi-Fatehjan Road. Muhammad Imran, his wife, their two children and a female relative were killed in the accident.
The car went so deep under the dumper truck that Rescue 1122 officials had to cut the car open to retrieve the bodies. The bodies were shifted to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Fatehjang, while the dumper truck driver and his associate were taken into police custody.
Talking to media at the crash site, Station House Officer New Airport Police said it seems as if the car driver was over-speeding and lost control over his vehicle, crashing into the oncoming dumper truck. However, he said the situation will become clear once all statements of all eyewitnesses have been recorded.
Sources said that the family was returning to Rawalpindi after attending a marriage ceremony in Fatehjang.
