The government of Balochistan on Saturday launched the Green Pakistan Rally – a countrywide campaign meant to turn Pakistan clean and green.
Balochistan Governor Amnaullah Yasinzai, Provincial Minister for Forest Mir Ziaullah Langau, Senior Minister for Local Bodies Sardar Saleh Bhootani, Quetta Mayor Dr Kaleemullah Kakar, government officials and large number of citizens participated in the rally.

Lauding the Green Pakistan initiative, the governor and provincial ministers said the initiative was in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision to make Pakistan clean and green.
“To control the drought in Balochistan, we have to plant more saplings and protect the trees,” said the governor, adding, “Planting saplings is our national duty.”
President Alvi kicks off plantation campaign
Describing the motive behind the Green Pakistan Rally, the participants said that the government wanted to make the citizens aware of the importance of tree plantation.
“The Green Pakistan campaign is the only way to end drought,” said one of the participants of the rally.
