Illegal appointments allegedly made in CAA

Illegal appointments have been allegedly made on important posts of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Express News reported on Saturday.

The appointments were made against the departmental code of conduct and have had a detrimental effect on the aviation authority's performance. Many important projects have been delayed, while the developmental expenditure has skyrocketed, said aviation sources.

Upgradation of Lahore airport is also not expected to be completed on time according to sources as the posts of director general CAA, chairman CA board, director commercial and estate and director human resources are contentious.

Secretary Aviation Authority Saqib Aziz currently holds two additional offices in addition to his original office.

Former director of human resources Sameer Saeed has taken the matter to court and a hearing will be held on Saeed's petition regarding illegal appointments on October 30.
