ISLAMABAD:
The dilapidated condition of roads and streets in Sector G-13 is creating problems for residents as concerned authorities have not yet taken any measures to rectify the situation. Despite various complaints by the residents and assurances by authorities concerned, there were no active steps taken to resolve the problem.

A survey of the area revealed that carpeting of the streets was not done even after handing over the possession of plots in the sector although over 60 per cent houses have been constructed in the area so far.

The broken stony roads were harming the vehicles of the residents as well as causing a muddy situation during the rainy season, the residents added. An official of the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) said that a few months back tenders of construction of roads were awarded but due to a few reasons work was not started.

He said that FGEHF has overcome the problem of water supply, adding that the supply was being made twice a week and sometimes thrice a week.

"The situation will be better in upcoming days," he said, adding that dialogue was underway with Capital Development Authority (CDA) for resolving the issues.
