PESHAWAR:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Dr Hasham Inamullah Khan has said that work on a comprehensive health policy is underway for provision of better health facilities to the masses at primary and secondary level.

He said that maximum health facilities would be shifted to rural and far flung areas to reduce influx of patients in tertiary health institutes.

He made this statement while addressing a workshop of stakeholders’ consultation on draft provincial health policy in Peshawar on Thursday.

He said a comprehensive and detailed policy has been planned and an implementation strategy is being evolved, aiming to provide better health care at the grass root level. He further informed that the health policy advisory council has evolved and experts from 27 national and international organisations are participating in creating the updated health policy. An implementation policy and strategy would soon be completed.
