A married couple were gunned down when a shootout broke out between relatives over loud music allegedly being played during a wedding on the outskirts of Peshawar on Thursday.

The victims have been identified as Saqib and Komal, who are both residents of the Hazar Khwani village.

Talking to The Express Tribune, a police official said the dispute started by relatives of Shahzeb, man whose wedding ceremony was marred by the armed clash. The relatives were arguing over lowering sound of the music played at the event, he added.

In a fit of rage, one of the relatives opened fire, resulting in the other side also firing back.
